Potion Puzzler, The Wilds of Dacrima Release Date Confirmed

The Wilds of Dacrima, the first-person fantasy adventure puzzler celebrates it’s release date with a launch trailer.

The Wilds of Dacrima: Field Notes from a Poorly Supervised Alchemist and his Unruly Robot Companion (acutal official title, yes really!) has had it’s release date confirmed. Making the announcement via a launch trailer, the title is confirmed to release for PC on 12 May 2026.

Check out the launch trailer below:

The Wilds of Dacrima takes players into a “whimsical, Victorian-inspired world where safety is entirely optional” (on track for the Victorian age then, I guess). You play the aspiring (and somewhat incompetent) Alchemist, Edric Tayte. He has been commissioned with charting an untamed wilderness to help uncover the origins of a deadly rot. You will have to brew potions to manipulate gravity, create bridges, and solve ancient mechanical puzzles.

You’ll be accompanied for the aforementioned ‘unruly robot companion’, L-PIN (Unit 734), a Clockwork assistant designed to aid, critique and in the words of the devs, “cause absolute chaos”.

Some of the key features of the game include:

  • Brew Your Own Solutions: Forage for key ingredients. You’ll use emergent alchemy to concoct potions that defy the laws of nature.
  • A Questionably Loyal Companion: Navigate the world with an automaton sidekick that provides puzzle assistance and regularly unhelpful commentary.
  • Chart the Vertical Wilds: Explore a non-linear, stylized 3D world filled with ancient ruins and overgrown steampunk technology.

Kept You Waiting, huh?

Developers, Antler Studios have been putting a lot of time and love into the game. They’ve spent over six years on The Wilds of Dacrima.

“We’ve spent six years building a world where the physics engine is your best friend and your worst enemy,” says Em Bailey, Designer at Antler Studios. “We wanted to create a puzzle game that didn’t just ask you to push on a button, but asks you to forage, brew a potion, throw it at a wall, and see what happens. Sometimes it’s a solution. Sometimes it’s a spectacular explosion. We consider both to be a success.”

The game recently passed 10,000 wishlists and looks to be a lot of fun. Will you be picking this up when it releases on 12 May?
