Many basketball fans have been waiting a long time for a game that captured the feelings they had from games like NBA Street. Play By Play Studios certainly seems poised to capture that magic with NBA The Run. Today the studio showed off new gameplay and gave us a release date.
NBA The Run is a high octane 3v3 street basketball game that will launch this June on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and Steam.
Featuring 30+ current NBA superstars as well as 5 fictional street ballers, players will compete for the World trophy in the Run, either by themselves or on squads.
The game play shown today is everything fans have been waiting for with plenty above the rim action, players on fire and more.
Beta Playtest
While the game might not be launching until June, fans that just can’t wait will have the opportunity to sign up for the closed beta playtest that is this Friday, May 1st from 3-6pm ESR. You can sign up now.
Game Modes
- Knockout Squads – Play on a Squad of 3. You control 1 player on the Squad, fill out your team with friends / other players and take on the competition.
- Knockout Solos – Build your own Team of 3. You control your team and go head to head against other players and their teams of 3.
- Knockout Friends – Your own Private Tournament. Play alone against the AI, crew up w/ friends against the AI, or go head to head against anyone you want to invite in (up to 48 players at Launch).
