A few days ago, we got the treat of the Second Wind Spring Showcase. Sadly, like many, I was working during the showcase itself, so I did not truly get a chance to dive into everything that was on display until this weekend. And within the first few moments, something caught my eye. A small title called Cutout Village.
Now, I’ll be honest – I didn’t try my hand at the cutout crafts from when I was a young lad, so maybe this will be my time to try it out! Cutout Village, from DevilishGames, promises a cozy, narrative-driven, city-builder game. And yes – you will have the full mechanics of cutout crafts – including cutting, folding, and gluing.

Now, where does the narrative component come in? Well, you’ll be storing the home and village of a small animal humanoid family that will tell the story of where they come from.
But do you want something more…analog?
Cutout Village Physical Book
Yup – you can actually order Cutout Village in book form! Or for the true DIY fan – you can also print out the pages at your home. This is honestly…a really cool touch to add to such a game based in a more physical medium. As much as I would consider the physical book, my shelves crammed with plants, books, figures, and LEGO sets would weep to see more items calling them home.

Cutout Village is slated for a 2026 release, per their Steam page, and will be coming to PC, along with PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. There is also promise of a Demo in the near future, which I will definitely be taking a crack at.
