It’s been almost two years since Sukeban Games officially revealed .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND, its follow-up to its breakout 2016 cult classic visual novel VA-11 Hall-A, but it seems like development is finally nearing completion. Today, the studio revealed the game’s second trailer, which teases two possible release windows.
Sukeban Games released its debut game, VA-11 Hall-A, in June 2016. A bar-tending focused visual novel, it has since amassed a strong cult following with later releases on PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. While the team announced a sequel titled N1RV Ann-A with a planned release for 2020, towards the end of the year the project was delayed indefinitely prioritize development of another game that would later be revealed as .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND.
The road has been long and unpredictable for Sukeban’s sophomore mainstream release, however during today’s INDIE Live Expo the second trailer for .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND was revealed, teasing a release window of “Summer/Fall 2026”, alongside a stylish new look at the game teasing more of its Parasite Eve inspired combat and strong PS1 influenced art direction.
This tease comes after the studio recently revealed that the game had achieved a content completion milestone in February, with designer Christopher “kiri” Ortiz claiming that the title was originally planned with a two-year development cycle before production ballooned into something the team had been working on “most of [their] lives”.
Given the studio’s recorded development struggles and the indefinite postponement of N1RV Ann-A, .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND has a lot of potential to be one of the surprise indie hits of the year, especially given the success VA-11 Hall-A has achieved. Here is hoping the rest of its development goes smoothly.
.45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND is planned to release for PC in “Summer/Fall 2026”.
