Kiln launches today! In celebration of Double Fine’s latest, and delightfully bonkers looking multiplayer game, we’re getting a look at the content to expect over the first month after release.
If you missed the announcement of the latest title to come from the Psychonauts and Keeper studio, Double Fine. It was announced during the Xbox Developer_Direct earlier this year. It is a multiplayer title where you can mould your own pots out of clay, and then have them fight online.
Following some closed beta testing with Double Fine Insiders, Kiln is ready to make it’s global debut today, on Thursday 23 April. On launch, you will expect to find the game’s core game mode, Quench, along with five multiplayer maps:
- Athena’s War Room
- Anubis’ Boat of the Dead
- Hermes’ Package Center
- Dionysus’ Boogie Lounge
- Set’s Basement Mosh Pit
Via a blog post on Xbox Wire, Double Fine confirms that for the first month after launch, Kiln will receive a new update of content every week. This includes decoration and sticker packs as well as the first new, post launch map, Hades.

After the first month, there’s plenty more content coming, along with new maps, additions to the progression system, a photo mode and more. Every month, Kiln will receive new cosmetics to keep decorating your pots in new and exciting ways.
Kiln is available now for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. It is also available on day one with Xbox Game Pass.
