One of Nintendo’s hottest Switch IPs, Splatoon is going to see it’s first Switch 2 title latest this summer as a release date is now confirmed.
Announced in the middle of last year, it’s been quite a wait to hear more. But now, Splatoon Raiders will be launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, 2026. And to celebrate, there’s plenty of new gameplay in the trailer below.
Splatoon Raiders Release Date Trailer
Much of the core Splatoon shooting action will return, but Raiders is a single-player-focused entry in the franchise where gamers will play as a mechanic working with with Deep Cut “a trio of swashbuckling musicians, and venture out into the mysterious Spirhalite Islands!“.
Raiders will offer players the ability to customise their appearance, which you can see in the release date trailer above. The mechanic will be able to equip mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons. You will fight against hordes of incredibly ugly sea creatures, Salmonids as you hunt for special treasures.
The islands to explore look full of life and colour, even before they’re splattered with ink from your various messy weaponry. The trailer also shows an array of abilities for players to use at their disposal. There’ll be loot to find across the adventure that can be used to craft and alter your weapons and items – you’ll be a mechanic after all!
Although confirmed as a single-player-focused game, there will be the ability to team up with three other players via online or local wireless play.
Splatoon Raiders Pre-Orders and amiibo
Currently pre-orders are not available on the Nintendo Store page, but that will likely become available later today.
Alongside the full release of Splatoon Raiders, there will be three new Splatoon amiibo. Those available are the three members of Deep Cut: Shiver, Big Man and Frye who will also release on July 23, 2026.
Splatoon Raiders sure looks like a lot of fun and it’s likely we’ll see a full Nintendo Direct about the game in the near future.
