In the digital era we are in now, it is more common to see games go gold months in advance as developers then work on a big day 1 patch. With Pragmata going gold so close to release that could indicate a much smaller day 1 patch, if any at all. This comes after earlier this month they pushed up the release date.
Pragmata is the first big new IP from Capcom since Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess released back in 2024. Since then, Capcom has produced a string of massive hits from its most notable franchises. In 2026 they have already released arguably the biggest game of the year up to this point in Resident Evil: Requim as well as Monster Hunter Stories 3. Pragmata will look to carry the publishers momentum forward.
In Pragmata players will play as a spacefarer named Hugh who is on a research station located on the moon. Alongside an android named Diana, whom players can also control, the pair will be attacked by the AI, known as IDUS, that is running the station. Hugh and Diana will work together to defeat the AI and return to earth.

What sets Pragmata apart from many games is its combat system. While acting as a third person shooter, Hugh’s weapons don’t do much damage against the AI robots on the research station. It is up to Diana to hack the robots and reveal the weakpoints for Hugh in order to defeat them. With the players controlling both characters however that means solving the hacking puzzles while also avoiding the enemy bullets.
Each time Diana does a hack it will be done in real time, so Hugh will have to avoid being killed himself while Diana does the hacking.
Pragmata releases for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 17th.
