Arc System Works’ DAMON and BABY releases today, and despite a rough launch build, the studio has announced a roadmap to support the game throughout 2026, promising gameplay improvements, balance adjustments, and new content to come.
DAMON and BABY is the latest new IP from Arc System Works and Guilty Gear creator Daisuke Ishiwatari. The game is a twin-stick shooting action game with RPG elements that follows a demon inexplicably linked to a child, following an attempt to reap her father’s soul goes wrong. He is soon tasked with delivering her to the Celestial Realm after learning of her spiritual importance.
In my review for DAMON and BABY earlier this week, I criticized the feel of combat and the poorly implemented map, which made levels often feel aimless and resulted in me getting lost multiple times during my playthrough. It seems that Arc System Works is on the job to remedy those criticisms, as the roadmap confirms that “Usability Improvements”, “UI/UX Adjustments”, and “Balance Adjustments” are coming to the game next month.

New content and outfits are also planned to arrive in the game this summer, with further adjustments also set to arrive until the end of the year alongside new side-stories, stages, and bosses.
Developer Message
Admittedly, this level of planned free content is impressive to see from Arc System Works, and promises to put the game in a better state towards the end of this year than it was during the review period. A letter from the game’s project manager also emphasizes Arc System Works’ intent to continue supporting the game even beyond this roadmap of free content, including the tease for crossovers beyond the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue cameos found within the game itself.

DAMON and BABY is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
