Some games are truly worth the wait, be it due to visuals, narrative or more. One game we’ve been following since seeing it at the 2024 Wholesome Direct is OPUS: Prism Peak. Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting a bit longer to get our hands on this one.
While initially aiming for a March 26 release, the team has announced that they will be delaying the release. On their Steam Page, they have shared, “We’re now in the final stretch of cross-platform compatibility testing and certification. To ensure a smooth, simultaneous launch, the release date for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam has been moved to April 16, 2026.”
They are completely aware that this isn’t the news that those interested in the game may want to hear. However, it seems this is in the best interest of the game and ensuring it’s everything that has been promised. Jonathan Wang, Producer at Shuiesha Games has shared, “By giving SIGONO additional development time, we can ensure that the final release truly reflects the heart and craftsmanship behind the project.”
What is OPUS: Prism Peak?
In OPUS: Prism Peak, play as ex-photojournalist Eugene who returns to his hometown and ends up stranded in the Dusklands. The Dusklands are a realm of unspoken sorrow and you must now try to find your way home. You’ll discover the mysteries of the Dusklands through your camera and through getting to know one of the biggest mysteries, who is this amnesiac girl you meet on your adventure? As you traverse you will reveal truths not only about the Dusklands itself, but also Eugene’s inner world.

This is not the first entry into the OPUS series as the development team over at SIGONO has released OPUS: The Day We Found Earth and OPUS: Echo of Starsong. While each of these deal with differing topics and various settings, each brings heart and emotions to the forefront of the story telling. Perhaps this delay is a great time to try out the previous entries in the series.
OPUS: Prism Peak will release on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 on April 16, 2026. Will you be going on this journey through the Dusklands with Eugene? Let us know in the comments below.
