Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf is finally here. The long awaited sequel to the indie hit Planet of Lana is much bigger than its predecessor and filled with difficult puzzles to navigate. This guide will help you solve the ritual in Chapter 5: Wemari Village within Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf.
As you progress through Chapter 5 you will come to a village. This is the beginning of a sub chapter within Chapter 5 called Wemari Village. Progress through the village and a couple simple puzzles until you get to a cutscene near a pond. Once here your new found friend will have given you a note with some instructions on how to solve a ritual, as well as a flute.
You will notice here that there is button prompt for you where you can play the flute, however you are likely struggling to find what notes to play. The map is actually a bit confusing here as it makes it seem like you have to play the flute first then go underground. But you actually need to head underground first to learn how to play the flute.
Head down into the caves and get a bunch of story beats as well as learn how to play 4 different symbols of music on your flute. With this done you will be able to climb up out of the cave, return to the spot by the pond and play the flute. But it isn’t quite that simple.
Music Note Solution
Now that you are back at the flute area, you must play 5 notes in order to summon the deer and get the final piece needed to save your sister. As you can see in the note you were handed, the 2 symbols are a combination of the 4 symbols you encountered in the caves.
What this means is you have to figure out some kind of combination of notes. The first symbol requires 3 notes and the second requires 2. In order to solve this you need to combine the notes when they are different. Ie on the first you need to play the middle and upper note at the same time because the 2 symbols require different notes. The second note is the same for both so you can simply play what you see on the screen.
So the full solution for this in chronological order is:
- Middle & Upper
- Lower & Middle
- Upper
- Middle
- Middle & Upper
If done correctly the next scene will play and you have completed the ritual to summon the sacred deer. It should be noted you could also probably just use this guide at the beginning and skip going through the cave. If you do so though you will miss out on key story elements, so keep that in mind.
