With the 2025 horror show of gaming financial calamity continuing into 2026, the latest publisher facing money woes is French publisher, Nacon.
Nacon, who have published well-known recent titles including the excellent Hell is Us, Robocop: Unfinished Business and most recently, Styx: Blades of Greed which we reviewed just last week, are struggling with their debts.
This is highly surprising as Nacon are hosting their next Nacon Connect livestream next week on 4 March, which promises updates on Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, The Mound, Edge of Memories, and Endurance Motorsport Series. For now, it seems that the show is still planned to go ahead.
In a statement on the insolvency filing from Nacon, they said their “available assets do not allow it to meet its due liabilities“. The company further stated they are looking to “assess all possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the company’s activity under the best possible conditions, protect employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework”.
This process is aimed to “continue its business, renegotiate its debts, and develop a credible and effective continuation plan”. Court proceedings, expected to be in early March “will rule on this request to open judicial reorganisation proceedings“.
With the future of the company looking uncertain, Nacon will hope that their upcoming showcase will excite fans and shareholders will remain committed to the business for future launches.
We’ll be bringing you all the news from Nacon Connect when it happens next week.
