Less than a day out from the launch of Romeo is a Dead Man, Suda51 has teased that his studio Grasshopper Manufacture is preparing another title to release this year. He has provided updates regarding the physical release, Switch 2 version, art book, and soundtrack releases.
Romeo is a Dead Man is an action-adventure game following FBI Space-Time agent Romeo Stargazer, after he is reanimated by his mad genius grandfather Benjamin, to track down intergalactic criminals while searching for his lost love, Juliet. We reviewed the game, which is packed with all of the stylistic flair that Grasshopper Manufacture fans have come to love.
To celebrate the game’s launch, Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi “Suda51” Suda has shared a video providing a few updates regarding fan requests going into the game’s launch. First off, he shares that the studio is hard at work preparing an art book and soundtrack release for the game, but unfortunately, they could not get them ready for launch.
Regarding the physical release (which we also asked him about in our interview), Suda claims the team is in discussions with several companies to make this version a reality, as it seems to be something Grasshopper Manufacture is very eager to deliver.
Suda also comments on the Switch 2 version, which he claims that the studio is doing everything it can to make happen. Finally, he teases that he is “almost 100% certain” that Grasshopper Manufacture will release a second game in 2026. Suda51 doesn’t allude to what this title could be, only reminding fans to “keep checking out various events, media, and videos like this”.
Finally, Suda caps off the video with a touching homage to Tatsushi Fujita, an artist at Grasshopper Manufacture who worked with the studio on Killer 7 before joining as a full-time member with Shadows of the Damned and being credited on titles such as Let it Die, Lollipop Chainsaw, The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and more. Romeo is a Dead Man is dedicated to Fujita both in the game’s credits and in Suda’s video, and he also claims that Grasshopper’s next game will be dedicated to Fujita.
