Cairn – Meteorologist Trophy Guide

Cairn, a recently released mountain climbing simulator by The Game Bakers, may be a mostly solitary and gruelling experience. However, every budding pro-climber needs to have some training and knowledge if they hope to defeat Kami, something that no one has done before. Here is our Meteorologist trophy guide for Cairn.

Check out our Cairn Review for our full thoughts on the game.

As a pro-climber (yes, I beat Cairn, so I’m a pro-climber now), we not only have to worry about food and water, but also the weather. Luckily, there is a magical doll that, if put together, can control fog! As a pro-climber, I can tell you that visibility is important if you want to succeed!

Here’s how you control the fog and earn a handy-dandy trophy! First, though not necessary (since you can just follow this guide), find the map that shows the general location of the three doll pieces.

You need to collect all three pieces of the doll, located in these areas

You can target the three doll pieces however you want; it doesn’t matter. The doll will automatically piece itself together once you have all three. There are many goodies and secrets to be found in this part of the game, so just bee-lining for the dolls is not recommended.

However, for efficiency’s sake (because why not learn from my own mistakes and inefficiencies), I suggest going left to right, starting with blue, then pink, then orange.

Before starting the hunt, try to look around at base level, forage, fill up your flask, and cook. While we’ll find many bivouacs along the way, the resources may not be as easy to find. Once ready, make your way to the left and head up after milking the goat and visiting the shepherdess.

Make any pit stops in caves that you see, saving along the way. However, don’t climb DOWN if possible, and instead make use of your pitons and rappel down. This way, you won’t waste too much time and resources while still satiating your curiosity.

Again, after grabbing the 2nd doll piece, instead of climbing back up, rappel up. It is important not to use your climbot to recall right away. Once you’ve rappelled up, follow the orange arrow to grab the last piece of the doll.

If you think you’ve completed your business in this part of the mountain and continue with the main story climb, make sure to rappel down. Though these are relatively simple to do.

Once you’ve picked up the last piece of the doll, you’ll get your trophy, and the doll will now be in your inventory. It has three uses, but unfortunately, I never did end up using it. Could be a lot of fun in photo mode.
