Have you ever wanted a fast paced shooter with good music and cute graphics? Publisher Kwalee and Australian indie studio Funny Fintan Softworks have your answer. They have even added some girlypop flair to their upcoming Y2K area shooter Don’t Stop Girlypop! which will release on Steam January 29, 2026. Of course, a release announcement would be nothing without a new trailer highlighting the adventures of Imber, your main character.
Armed with a flip phone and MP3 player players will be ready to just keep moving. The fast you move the more damage you’ll deal and the faster you’ll heal. Make sure you collect the love all around you as well. When you meet your new friend Tommy, that nondescript digital handheld animal will need that love too! As you defeat these robots, The Love finds its way back into the environment and you find yourself one step closer to the end of dangerous company Tigris Nix. The nostalgia factor is definitely on high for this game.

Of course, girly pops can’t go out there and shoot up robots without some style. You’ll get to customize Imber’s arms as well as weapons. Focus on the color schemes, add bows to your weapons, and be sure you feel like the baddie Imber truly is. The demo also comes with three different difficulty levels. Depending on the level of difficulty you choose, this feels like a brighter more upbeat version of Doom. Who needs to be Doom guy when you can be fabulous and pretty in pink? Sure we may not be ripping and tearing, but we are enjoying a fun soundtrack paired with first person shooting that can challenge even the best of gamers. Others may liken this to a much pinker version of Ultrakill, so if these are you types of games, be sure to check this one out.
Before you ask, yes, some of the lyrics may get stuck in your head. This is your warning!
Don’t Stop Girlypop! was originally created as a school project but has now been expanded thank to support by Screen Australia and Screenwest. This is quite the feat for what began as a small project. So are you feeling ready to put on your best pink and shoot up an evil corporation? Then what are you waiting for, Don’t Stop Girlypop!
Don’t Stop Girlypop! is due out January 29, 2026 but you can wishlist this now on Steam. Will you be adding this to your wishlist? Let us know in the comments below!
