Publisher Thunderful Games have confirmed that much delayed indie title, REPLACED will receive a “big reveal” soon as 2025 draws to a close.
REPLACED was originally scheduled to launch in 2022. The launch was pushed to 2025 last year but that window already slipped with a 2026 date stated on the game’s Steam page. The game’s development has been severely disrupted as the developers were located in Belarus, before relocating to Cyprus during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
With few updates beyond the Gamescom 2025 gameplay trailer since the E3 2021 reveal, the launch of the game seems to be getting closer as the publisher promises big updates to come. REPLACED is set in an alt-history 1980s America with free-flowing combat and a deep, dystopian story. It is one of the most hotly anticipated indies out there.
In a social media post, accompanied by some wonderful poster art, Thunderful ask fans to “stay tuned” with more to come.
We have a big reveal coming soon for @REPLACEDGame, stay tuned…

With The Game Awards just around the corner, we may see the “big reveal” whilst all eyes are on the industry’s big annual awards show.
REPLACED will launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, Steam and Epic Games Store at a TBC date. An Xbox One release was originally planned but according to an August Steam blog, this version appears to be removed.
