Romeo is a Dead Man was one of the biggest surprises from Sony’s June 2025 State of Play showcase. Being the next big game from punk auteur Goichi “Suda51” Suda, the trailer showcased a variety of crazy art styles and over the top anime inspired sequences. Grasshopper has now announced that it will reveal more for Romeo is a Dead Man as part of a “Grasshopper Direct”.
Romeo is a Dead Man is a third-person shooter that follows Romeo Stargazer, a new recruit for the FBI’s Space-Time Police force, as he hunts down intergalactic criminals while searching for his missing girlfriend, Juliet. As with other Suda51-led titles, the game looks to be blending punk aesthetics, crass writing, blood, guts, and on-the-nose pop culture references all into an enticing concoction.
Romeo is a Dead Man Could Be Releasing Soon
As the game inches closer to release, Grasshopper has announced that a “GRASSHOPPER DIRECT: 5 minutes feat. ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN” will debut on December 4 at 5pm PST/8pm EST (December 5, 1am GMT). The special presentation will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the game. Viewers can expect brand-new footage which will air on the Grasshopper Archives YouTube channel.
Conversely, earlier this month the South Korean ratings board posted a listing for Romeo is a Dead Man. This is an indication that the game’s release is imminent.
