You won’t be lost for things to do in Davy X Jones, as you guide the eponymous dead duo on their quest for revenge against Captain Blackbeard and their mutinous crew, the cause of their death and decapitation. Alongside exploring the nine islands of the Locker and taking part in sky battles aboard Abby, your Behemoth vessel, there are several collectables and challenges to undertake, as well as achievements. Pufferfish Philosopher Achievement Guide
Listening to Davy’s death ramble is actually pretty easy to do, but it is also just as easy to miss!
All you have to do is die… again. Yup, just let yourself be defeated in combat, or jump off one of the nine islands floating within The Locker into the yawning abyss below.
Once you have met your grisly end, you’ll be taken to a death screen with the options to Rechart (Continue) or Leave (Quit). In the centre of the screen floats an illuminated Davy, with the occasional fish skeleton catching the light as they swim past him.
Now, all you have to do is not leave this screen, and Davy will start talking to you. He starts talking about pufferfish, hence the name of the achievement, before going on about certain other aquatic species and enquiring after the drunken sailor.
You’ll know you’ve reached the end of Davy’s death ramble when he finishes in a way that only the great Captain Davy Jones could. Also, the Pufferfish Philosopher achievement should pop, which is a dead giveaway.
