Winter Burrow – Family Reunion Achievement Guide

Winter Burrow might be the cutest and cosiest survival-crafting game we have ever seen, but it’s not without its challenges! The game has a few dozen achievements/trophies, and while most of them you are likely to unlock just through playing, there are a few we thought some people might want some help with. So here is our Family Reunion achievement guide to assist you in completing all of Bufo’s quests in Winter Burrow.

Check out our Winter Burrow Review to read our full thoughts on the game.

Family Reunion Achievement Guide

You’ll find Bufo the grumpy frog in the Gnarled Oaks region, via the Northeast (top right) exit in the large area passed Aunty’s burrow.

Talk to them to get your first quest, Pebbles and Twigs, so collect 2 twigs and 5 pebbles, then return to Bufo. You can find 5 pebbles to the rear of your burrow, passed some docile bugs.

Bufo will give you your first pickaxe and then your next quest, Granite Stones, where you have to, you guessed it, collect 3 granite stones! You’ll find granite stones loose on the ground in the large area before reaching Bufo’s home, but there is a spot where 3 are sitting together, waiting to be picked up.

Head back down as if you were returning to your burrow, and look for a concealed path just passed the campfire leading to an area containing several bugs. To the left are the three granite stones we are looking for!

Return to Bufo, and they will give you a new backpack blueprint, which expands your inventory once made, as well as your next quest, Pebbles and Flint.

Head back into the large area before Bufo’s home and go down the thinner path to the right of the main path. Tucked in a corner amongst some reeds is a backpack with a piece of flint in it.

To the left of the backpack is a log you can chop up to clear a path to find another piece of flint; just be careful of the aggressive bug guarding it. That’s all the flint we need, so just grab 10 pebbles and return to Bufo.

Bufo’s next quest, Follow the Owl, ties into the main story, as he sends you North into the Shadow Pines region to find the squirrel, Gnawtusk. (Check out our Friends In A Nutshell Achievement Guide for help with finding Gnawtusk)

You can continue Bufo’s questline after the narrative beat that happens at the end of the second act. Go to Bufo, and they will give you a new quest, An Axe For Bufo, which tasks you with collecting some pebbles and twigs for Bufo.

Give Bufo the resources they asked for, and they will give you the blueprint for the next pickaxe. After a short cutscene, Bufo will give you another quest, Find Pollywog. Be sure to go back to your burrow and make the pickaxe.

To find Pollywog, you want to go down the right path when heading back to your burrow from Bufo’s, go through the log tunnel, and take the South exit.

Continue going down in the next area, and use your pickaxe on the rocks blocking another log tunnel. Go through it and the exit to the right.

In the next, much darker area, you want to head down as soon as you can, weaving your way to a lit campfire where you will find Pollywog!

Speaking to Pollywog gives you your next quest: Report To Bufo?.

Return to Bufo and immediately start the next quest, Bake Some Pies, which requires you to make a blackberry pie and a rowanberry pie for Bufo.

Give Bufo the two pies, and once they have finished stuffing their face, they will give you a key and your next quest: Give The Key To Pollywog.

Finally, we reach the last quest in Bufo’s questline! Talk to Pollywog to give them the key and start the Give Pollywog Some Time quest. All you have to do is go back to Bufo, and the two will reunite. Bufo and Pollywog thank you and give you the blueprint for the best pickaxe in the game.

Congratulations! You have unlocked the Family Reunion achievement!
