During last night’s PlayStation State of Play Japan – which you can recap on all the news from here – we were given many game updates and reveals. These included release dates for Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake, as well as for Elden Ring Nightreign’s DLC, The Forsaken Hollows which arrives next month.
At recent State of Play showcases, Sony have started to reveal more hardware including the Pulse Explore wireless earphones and more recently, the Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers which were shown at the September 2025 State of Play.
Continuing this trend, PlayStation are now bringing their first gaming monitor to the market. The black fronted monitor includes a very handy charging grip for your DualSense controller.

PlayStation Gaming Monitor Specs
The 27 inch monitor, a common size for gaming monitors, should be regarded as a mid-range option. Lacking 4K and OLED capabilities, the monitor will be looking to target sofa and TV players who want to move their PlayStation to a desk. The monitor features the following specifications:
- A Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS display up to 2560 x 1440 resolution, so players can game at a comfortable viewing distance from their desk.
- High Dynamic Range support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping that automatically adjusts HDR settings during setup on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, ensuring rich and vivid picture quality.
- VRR support and refresh rates of up to 120 Hz for smooth and seamless gameplay on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, and 240 Hz on compatible PC and Mac devices.
- A built-in Charging Hook for a DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller (sold separately) that makes it easy for players to get right into gaming.
The PlayStation Gaming Monitor has two HDMI ports which support HDMI 2.1 and up to 2560×1440, 240Hz (120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro); as well as a DisplayPort IN port that supports up to 2560×1440, 240Hz (120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro), DSC. HDMI and DisplayPort cables are not included.
As for connecting further devices to the monitor, there are two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port.
A plus for the monitor is a built in speaker, with many monitors on the market not having any audio output. A 3.5mm audio output port is also a feature.

PlayStation Gaming Monitor Price and Pre-orders
The monitor will launch in the United States and Japan in 2026. Details on release in other markets is currently unannounced.
Sony did not offer a price during the State of Play, though one could expect a rough price of $350 given the specs, though console branded hardware can often be higher priced.
