In a move that may surprise few gamers, Grand Theft Auto 6 has once again been delayed and will now launch on November 19 2026. Previously the release date had been scheduled for May 26 2026, which itself was an already delayed date.
With another 6 months added to the wait for the most anticipated game in the history of the medium, Rockstar have told fans that they need more time to polish the modern iteration of the legendary fictional, Vice City.
A short statement on their website included an apology and acknowledgement of the already long delay from the development team:

Despite Grand Theft Auto VI being confirmed several years ago, so little of the game has yet to be shown to the public. Trailer 2 which was shown back in May of this year is only the second glimpse of the game we have seen. Jason Duval and Lucia’s love fuelled adventure to Vice City looks nothing shy of stunning so it’s unsurprising Rockstar want a little longer to cook the first GTA since 5 which has spanned 3 generations since its 2013 launch
So, just over a year to wait (again). But with an already excellent 2026 in mature gaming on paper with Resident Evil Requiem, Gears E-Day and so much more, we won’t be bored whilst we wait.
