Lovecraftian horror has found a home within gaming, but it has stayed relatively confined to its source material and familiar settings, such as icy tundra and seaside towns. Dead Static Drive is shaking up the formula, with what the dev team describes as a “Grand Theft Cthulhu” game. With less than a week till release, we finally have an idea of what awaits us in this vehicular adventure with the reveal of the Dead Static Drive achievement list.
Developed and published by Australian Indie dev team Reuben Games, Dead Static Drive is a single-player survival-horror road trip through a twisted version of 1980s Americana, where you’ll have to scavenge, sneak, and fight your way across unsettling small towns and haunted highways. As Hearst, a wayward traveler, you’ll need to rely on others to survive, but trust is a scant and valuable resource. With only an unaddressed letter to guide you, on a search to find your family and answers to what is going on, you’ll have to keep your wits about you if you want to survive this unraveling world.
The Dead Static Drive achievement list, available on the TrueAchievements website, has only 15 achievements, totaling 1000G, with most hidden as secret achievements. We have kept those hidden to avoid spoilers, but readers can take a look at their own discretion.

From what we can see without spoiling anything, you’ll want to make forging relationships with certain characters a priority to unlock the Of the People achievement, and not just because it’s a nice thing to do.
