Mouse P.I. For Hire Falls Into 2026

Updated:

Not only did we get a new trailer at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase, we got a release date! Mouse P.I. For Hire will release on March 19th 2026.

Original Story

One of 2025’s most anticipated indie games has slipped into 2026. Mouse P.I. For Hire developer PlaySide Studios made the tough announcement on social media today. The announcement comes before tomorrow’s Galaxies Gaming Showcase where Mouse P.I. For Hire will get a new trailer.

In the social media post the studio stated “Ahead of the reveal, we wanted to let you know that we have made the decision to move the launch of Mouse P.I. For Hire from 2025 to early 2026.”

Thankfully for fans waiting, the early 2026 date suggests it won’t be a super long delay. Without a firm date things can of course change, but the game is coming along well and an early 2026 date might be better, not only for more polish of the game but also a better window in terms of other titles coming out. The rest of 2025 is pretty busy, so they can hopefully find a good window in 2026.

The post continued to say “The support you have shown over the years has meant the world to us. Our single highest priority is for the game to deliver the best possible experience, and this will help ensure we can live up to that goal. Thanks for everything and we will see you at Galaxies.”

PlaySide Studios delay announcement

Mouse P.I. For Hire is a unique first person shooter that has been on the radar of gamers everywhere since it was first announced. With its unique hand drawn graphics reminding players of Cuphead and old Mickey Mouse cartoons, it has captivated audiences. Who doens’t want to play a game where you get to enjoy the aesthetics of an old cartoon while shooting enemies?

Players will step into the shoes of Private Investigator Jack Pepper, once a war hero, now a detective working in the underbelly of the city of Mouseburg. What starts out as a typical damsel in distress mission quickly turns into much more as Jack looks to solve the crimes of the underbelly of Mouseburg.

Mouse P.I. For Hire also features an impressive voice actor handling the role of Jack Pepper. None other than Troy Baker himself will be lending his voice to the games protagonist.

With its gritty, noir setting and unique game play, Mouse P.I. For Hire is looking like a game you won’t want to miss. You can see the next trailer during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase which takes place tomorrow, October 23rd starting at 3pm EST.

Mouse P.I. For Hire will launch on PC via Steam, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles.
