Silly Polly Beast Announces Release Date, Demo Available Now

Silly Polly Beast

While there is already no shortage of great horror games to play in time for Halloween this year, that isn’t stopping indie developers from pushing things forward and offering new and unique experiences. This looks to be the case for Silly Polly Beast, a new action horror game from Anji Games, published by Top Hat Studios.

This stylish horror game blends top-down action gameplay with cinematic storytelling as it follows a young girl as she escapes an orphanage to find the manifestations of her nightmare awaiting her in the outside world. Originally pitched as a rogue-like, this is now a linear, narrative-driven adventure with intense combat and puzzle solving.

The demo, which is available now on Steam, is very promising, offering glimpses at the satisfying action elements and gripping narrative sequences, all topped off with a sharp visual presence. To coincide with it, Top Hat Games has announced that Silly Polly Beast will release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 28, just in time for Halloween.

Publisher Top Hat Studios has been making a name for itself this year, especially following its Tokyo Game Show showcase. The publisher has a diverse slate, including the recently released Islets from Crypt Custidian developer Kyle Thompson and Twinkle’s Galactic Tour from Frogun developer Molegato. Each of its games is brimming with visual flair, and Silly Polly Beast seems to be no exception.

Silly Polly Beast releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 28. A demo is available on Steam now.
