Croc Remaster Gets ‘Platinum Edition’ Update

Over the last year we’ve seen a huge resurgence of 3D action platformers. Some remakes have been delightful like the excellent Yooka-Replaylee, others like Glover’s barebones HD uprez were so bad that they should have been left in the era in which they were made. But regardless it’s great that there’s a resurgence of the genre on modern platforms.

Earlier this year, PlayStation 1 classic Croc: Legend of the Gobbos returned to all modern consoles and PC and was well-received on launch. Developer Argonaut Games have continued to work on the remaster and this week the Platinum Edition of the game will be released for all players.

Releasing for the first time in the coming days on Steam, and 16 October on all other platforms, the update includes 16 new achievements and trophies for all platforms, including a platinum trophy on PlayStation 4 & 5 for the first time. The Switch version will have its own in-game achievements.

The update will also introduce a new Time Attack game mode, new Crocoipedia content including game design documents and the ability to toggle between various audio via the menus. The Platinum Edition also brings a variety of quality of life fixes.

Did you play the Croc remaster on release earlier this year? Will you be heading back in for the platinum trophy? Let us know in the comments below and stick with GSC for all your gaming news.
