SNK Vs Capcom SVC Chaos Shadow Drops; Skipping Xbox

SNK and Capcom just announced an arcade classic is getting an updated version and the best part is, it’s a shadow drop as it’s releasing today on Steam with a console release soon to follow with one glaring omission.

SNK Vs Capcom SVC Chaos is dropping today on Steam with console versions for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and GOG releasing Monday July 22nd. As mentioned the game isn’t coming to Xbox systems.

This has been a recurring theme of late for these older Capcom games. We’ve spoken at length in the past when Capcom skips Xbox like this and while it does suck for Xbox gamers it doesn’t appear it will change anytime soon. Capcom doesn’t appear to be interested in reviving the engine needed on Xbox and while SNK is more involved in this than Capcom it is likely a similar situation which is why this game is being made for last gen instead of this gen.

The original game was launched in 2003. It is one of the lower rated SNK Vs Capcom games so it is a tad interesting that they’d re-release it. As if this week wasn’t busy enough for games!
