SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato – Close Call Achievement Guide

Welcome to our achievement guide for SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato, available on PlayStation, Xbox (including in Xbox Game Pass) and on Steam. This guide will show you how to easily unlock the Close Call achievement for beating the whirlpool.

Check out our SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato Review for our full thoughts on the game.

Close Call Achievement Guide

This achievement is available very early in the game and can be unlocked in the boat section. You will come tumbling down a series of rapids and reach a whirlpool which wants to suck you into the middle.

When you get here, you want to veer to the right as hard as possible:

Keep pushing right past the circle in the middle which is pulling you closer:

Once past, you have to tackle the water incline. Rather than hammering the A button, steadily press the A button in pattern with the oar that Miho is paddling with, this will give you more strength as you push to the other side:

When you reach the other side of the whirlpool you will unlock your Close Call achievement. Congratulations!

That has been our Close Call achievement guide. We hope you found it helpful. For more SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato guides and our full review, please see:
