Crowbar Collective, the developer of the beloved fan made Half-Life Remake Black Mesa have unveiled their latest project, a roguelite tactical co-op shooter called Rogue Point.
Crowbar today announced the game alongside its publishing partner Team17. The plot is described as “The CEO, the richest man in the world, is dead. Cutthroat conglomerates seek to carve up his kingdom. Using the MERX app, rival businessmen can order private mercenary armies as easily as ordering takeout! Only Rogue Point, an elite, independent vigilante squad, dares to fight back.”
Of course Crowbar is most known for Black Mesa, it’s Half-Life remake which became a massive hit in its own right. Going from remaking something to creating a new IP is a whole new ball game however, so it will certainly be interesting to see how Rogue Point turns out as the developer shifts to a full time studio.
CEO and Project Lead Adam Engels shared that sentiment a bit in his statement saying “We’re very excited to share that we have partnered with Team 17 for our upcoming co-op shooter, Rogue Point. We cannot wait to go in depth about the game, and everything we learned while creating a new IP (as well as turning Crowbar Collective into a full time development studio). We can’t thank Team 17 enough for their support and expertise. Just like Black Mesa, we want to heavily involve the community in our development and updates. Our community was critical in the Early Access of Black Mesa and having Team 17 as a partner for Rogue Point helps us focus on development and community feedback!”

Rogue Point will be a 4 player co-op experience with its roguelite elements meaning you and your friends will have hundreds of ways to play and tackle the games challenging missions as you aim to stop the corporate war.
Other Key Features Include:
- Unlock cosmetics, weapons and campaign modifiers to create loadouts specific to the needs of the mission.
- Plan and shoot your way through a dynamic campaign, where no two playthroughs are alike.
- Each MERX class presents a unique threat, that challenges you in new and surprising ways.
- Evolve operators’ skills, interacting with the rogue-lite element of the game.
- Gather Intel, plan your assault, and adapt your strategy along the way. Fight your way through missions spread across 4 diverse locations, with each map reshaped by the game’s Parametric Design System, offering new strategies and challenges with every play.
We don’t have many details in terms of a release date, however the only platform mentioned in the trailer is Steam.
