There are several achievements / trophies that relate to getting different types of collectibles. There’s also the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ for finding them all. To spot a collectible in the game, use your Survivor Sense to highlight points of interest in the area. Collectibles can be spotted by the orange chest, see below.

There are nine tapes containing The Baron’s research recordings to find scattered across the game’s map.

It’s in the room where you encounter the scientist that tries to shoot you (during a cutscene). The tape is on a bookcase. Baron’s Research Memo #04 (4 / 9)

This one is located to the south east on the map. It’s the area during the story mission “Vengeance is Mine” where you fight lots of human enemies before heading into the mine. The tape is on a crate on the right before you enter the mine.

Baron’s Research Memo #06 (6 / 9)

The memo is located in the bottom of the school you have to go into as part of the “School’s Out” mission. The location is in The Vale area of the map (look for red writing on the map). It’s to the east of the map. The tape is on a computer desk in the large room where the firefight kicks off.

Baron’s Research Memo #07 (7 / 9)

Baron’s Research Memo #08 (8 / 9)

It’s in another factory building in the Industrial Park. The big building to the left of the area (when looking at the map). It’s on a desk in a control room, up some metal stairs when you’re inside. It’s on a desk next to a computer.

Baron’s Research Memo #09 (9 / 9)

This tape is located in the Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant in the north east of the map. It’s the location where you fight the Chimera with the gas mask on, underneath lots of grates. The tape is above the grates on a transformer in the centre of the area.
