Warriors of the Three Kingdoms, rejoice! Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered, the game that established the foundation of this long-running series, has been announced at today’s PlayStation State of Play.

This remaster combines both Dynasty Warriors 3, which was released back in September of 2001, and Dynasty Warriors 3: Extreme Legends, the 2003 expansion to the original game, and brings them into the modern day with updated graphics using Unreal Engine 5.

Tomohiko Sho, the Head of Omega Force, Koei Tecmo Games, and producer of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, took to the PlayStation Blog to mark the announcement.

“We are pleased to announce that the fan-favorite (and our most requested remaster) Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is not only in development, it will launch March 2026! 

To give you a glimpse of this nostalgic title, we have released an announcement trailer featuring footage from the PlayStation 2 version.”

The Dynasty Warriors series is a tactical action game based on Luo Guanzhong’s 14th-century Chinese historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Players choose from a roster of historical figures from this turbulent period of war and fight through campaigns of 1 vs 1000 battles. Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered looks to retain the core experience of the original release, including many of the series staples, such as True Musou, two-player simultaneous play, and the officer development system.

Sho-san signed off on the blog post, alluding to the tease that fans may have noticed at the end of the trailer.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will be available on March 19, 2026, across PC(Steam), PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series.
