A game many were thinking might be on the Xbox chopping block has just made a big splash at the Tokyo Game Show. Kojima Studios is celebrating 10 years at this years event, and during that celebration they brought a new teaser trailer for their horror game OD.
The 3 minute trailer is really the first look we’ve ever really seen of the Xbox published OD. During its initial reveal back at the Game Awards in 2023 all we really got to see was some facial animations. While today’s trailer is really just a rendered scene, it still gives us a better glimpse at what to expect.
In the trailer we get a bit of redacted information about what has happened in the world of OD. Something happened 10 years ago and whatever these cursed things are have once again returned. We then see a card dropped that says to “light the fires to obliterate the …” What we are obliterating is blurred out so we don’t know.
After that we see a woman lighting some candles, though some are not just any regular old candle. Some appear to look like babies. The setup appears to be the aforementioned ritual.

Suddenly the door behind the woman opens and we hear what sounds like a radiation detector going off.
The woman’s face, whom is frozen in fear, has her skin begin to show markings of some kind on it, radiation poisoning perhaps? You can hear something creeping up behind her before massive hands grab her head and the scene fades to black as she screams.

The trailer itself will keep players talking about what Kojima is cooking up with this one, but it is certainly leaning into the horror vibes, a genre fans have been clamoring for from him since PT.
While we don’t learn too much, we know that the game is being developed using Unreal Engine. It also appears that the game has a new name? OD: Knock appears to be the new working title that Kojima is going with.
Whatever OD: Knock is, it is sure to stir up interest as only Kojima can. Perhaps we will see more at Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show presentation on Thursday? One can only hope.
