Inspector Waffles Early Days – High Hopes Achievement Guide

There are a total of 12 Achievements to unlock in Inspector Waffles Early Days, covering a bunch of activities and challenges. Half of them is solving the main mystery of each case and the other half is solving the optional tasks the mysterious Mad Catter has in store. 

Here is our guide to help you unlock the High Hopes in Inspector Waffles Early Days.


I will be covering all the Mad Catter tasks located in each of the cases. These need to be done in order as if you miss the task in case 1, for example, you won't be able to complete the one in case 2. So make sure you follow our guides so you don't miss these side mysteries.

High Hopes
Find the Mad Catter's Necklace in Case 2

A new day, a new case, and a new archnemesis. This time, we're gonna need to pay attention to some numbers. You'll need them to enter through a door that you'll find mid-way through this case. 

Use the Code from Case 1

• Find the door in the magnet factory and use the code from case 1
• Take note of the clue at the end of the maze

The case you are working on today is the case of the exploding machinery in the U-Magnets magnet manufacturing facility. After talking to the boss, you'll be able to wander around the building. On the left side of the main entryway, you'll see a door that needs a security code!

Now, didn't we get a code for a magnet factory somewhere before? Yes, yes we did. I hope you took note of that code so we can, probably, illegally enter this place, without permission.

Once you enter the code and enter the door, you'll see a giant room of boxes places like a maze. At the end of maze you'll see a room with a chalkboard. On that chalkboard is a clue for some numbers that you'll need to complete Mad Catter's puzzle of the day.

A hedge, car, boxes and water

It seems cryptic, but now that you've seen this, you've probably already seen a couple of suspiciously arranged items that could be the clue you need to solve it.

The Car and Box symbol codes

• Check out the green cars in the magnet factory's parking lot
• Check out the boxes beside that locked door in the factory

The two that you've probably already seen at this point are the codes representing the car and the stacked boxes.

The boxes on the right side of the room where you inputted that security code is most definitely a number "5"
These cars on the left looks suspiciously like the number "7"

The Hedge symbol code

• Progress the story until you need to interrogate an ex-employee
• Take note of that door to the left of the ex-employee
• Go to the back of the building to visit the duck pond
• Admire the hedges

As you progress through the case, you'll gain access to an apartment building. In this building, while you're meant to be interrogating an ex-employee, the door on left side is a door labeled "No 41". Through this door is where you'll need to input a 4-digit code to complete the puzzle. 

We have two so far, but to the left of this building, there is duck pond and across from it are hedges shaped like the number "8". So that means so far, we've got 8-7-5-x. We're nearly there!

I couldn't help but be annoyed at these invisible walls blocking these paths...darn you retro games!

The Water symbol code

• Progress the story until you gain access to Horse Woof shop
• Ask the dog to enter his back door 
DO NOT swim on that pond!

After finding out more about magnets, you'll gain access to the mom & pop shoppe of magnet makers as well as the last digit we need for the code.

Talking to the dog, he'll allow you access to his neatly kept backyard. He's got an inconspicuously shaped pond that you'll need to make a note of.

Make sure you don't step on any poop, I'm sure this is where the dog does his business

The Code, the Door, and the Mismatched Tile

• Go back to No41 door
• Input 8-7-5-1
• Use eyeballs to find the item hidden under the tiles

After visiting the dog and his backyard, you now have the solution to the puzzle the Mad Catter left for you, and all you need to do is head back over to that No41 room and put the code: 8-7-5-1.

He'll say some stuff before disappearing again, mentioning something about leaving something for us but we'll need a keen eye to find it. It really isn't tough. Continue along this linear path and at the end you'll see some obviously out of place tiles with an item underneath that you'll need for the next case!
