Remember Xbox Live Summer of Arcade (or Winter of Arcade if you live Down Under!)? The days when Xbox spotlighted some genuine quality indie titles on the Xbox Store. It's been a while since then, the Xbox Store has frankly struggled to bring quality games to the eyes of players.
Tens of "˜achievement game' shovelware titles get added to the store every single week; bundles of indies that all look and sound the same; and quite simply, many low-quality titles clutter the storefront and make finding indies worth playing difficult to find.
Whilst the ID@Xbox programme has been tremendous for developers and gamer choice across Xbox, it's been notoriously difficult to pick out games that are genuinely worth playing. But finally, we have some progress with the Xbox Indie Selects Weekly and Monthly Collections, a new webpage that'll help you find exciting new titles.
The new page looks like this:

New titles will be added to the weekly and monthly collections in rotation. In the first Weekly Collection selects, games include Bad Cheese, Cronos: The New Dawn and KARMA: The Dark World, which recently also launched on Xbox. There's even a collection for games to play whilst holding a baby, handy for the moms and dads amongst us.
The Monthly Collection highlights some slightly bigger titles including Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Killing Floor 3 and oddball title, Ratshaker.
It's fantastic to finally have some better curation on Xbox indies. One can only hope this migrates to the console version of the Xbox Store also.
What indies have you played recently? If there are any you'd like to highlight, come join the GSC Discord and have a chat with our fun community about what you've been playing. Stick with Gamer Social Club for all your Xbox and ID@Xbox news.
