Upcoming classic-style survival horror title Tormented Souls 2 now has a demo available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 ahead of its full launch in October. A demo is also available on Steam.
The original, which was heavily inspired by 90s Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil originals released in 2021 and reintroduced many of the bygone tropes _ fixed cameras, tricky puzzles and limited items to play with.
Tormented Souls protagonist, Caroline Walker returns for the sequel which takes us to a new setting, Villa Hess. The game looks truly horrifying in the above trailer and you can now get a taste of the gameplay from the demo.
In the demo, players can expect:
“roughly 60-80 minutes of gameplay, beginning with the sisters’ arrival at the convent-turned-clinic in Villa Hess. Greeted by Sister Angelica, a member of the convent’s secretive sisterhood, the pair are initially at ease. But during the night the sisterhood’s matriarch, Mother Lucia reveals her plan to capture the twins in order to continue the twisted work of their grandfather, Noah. With Anna missing, Caroline wakes up disoriented in the convent’s infirmary, at which point players will take direct control.
Throughout the demo players will have the opportunity to experience the core mechanics while exploring a section of the first major location, the convent. As Caroline ventures deeper into the shadowy facility, she’ll become reunited with her trusty lighter and pneumatic nailgun, essential tools for fighting back against the horrifying creatures that are closing in around her. It’s not all combat though, and the team at Dual Effect have made sure to include plenty of devious early game puzzles for players to wrap their heads around!”

Tormented Souls 2 is coming to PC (Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 23 2025.
