Hell is Us is third-person action-adventure game that aims to “return to the roots of adventure games” by getting players to rely on their instincts rather than way points and map markers. It’s ambitious and quite rewarding to make progress and discover stuff off the beaten path.

There’s a whole host of puzzles, mysteries and strange items to be found in the world of Hadea, where Hell is Us is set. Not to mention weird looking enemies too!

With that in mind, we’ve pulled together some guides which we hope are helpful. Please note that these won’t necessarily be step-by-step walkthroughs, but things to look out for to help solve the mystery.

Hell is Us: Solve ‘Performance of a Lifetime’ Good Deed Guide

Good Deeds are additional side objectives in the game, where you can get rewards for completing objectives for people throughout the game. What these Good Deeds are isn’t known initially. There are 26 in the game and can be tracked in your datapad. However, they are blanked out until you discover an item / speak to a person related to it.

Even then, the datapad doesn’t tell you what you need to do, just that you’ve found it. You’ll have to chat to NPCs and use the ‘Trade’ option to look at items you can give to them. There’s no harm in trying them with characters; they’ll tell you that it isn’t for them.

YOU CAN FAIL GOOD DEEDS! So if you find an item you think can go to a character, take your earliest opportunity to do so. Just in case! But, bearing in mind that you may not get the thing you need until you reach another area.

Completing Good Deeds can earn you rewards in one of the areas in Vyssa Hills, the third location in the first main area of the game.

Performance of a Lifetime Good Deed

The Performance of a Lifetime Good Deed starts in Acasa Marshes, in the town of Jova. You’re looking for a ‘fearful fiddler’ who is playing a fiddle sitting on an army truck.

His dilemma is that he only knows one permitted song, and is worried about Captain Vaas getting more annoyed. You’ll need to find him additional song sheets so he can play some new tunes, saving his neck.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A GOOD DEED YOU CAN FAIL.

How do I know? Well I failed the damn thing! I found two pieces of sheet music, detailed below. However, I did not hand them in with enough time, and when I returned to Jova, well. The fearful fiddler was dead!

This happened after I had completed Act 1 and returned in Act 2. I do not know for sure, but I would recommend handing in the sheet music before you use the Keystone of Grief at the end of Act 1. Hand in the sheet music when you have it.

I also don’t know that there are only two pieces of sheet music, there could be more. We will update when we learn more.

Sheet Music – Our Pride (1 / 2)

To find this sheet music, head to the top of the town of Jova. You’re looking for the Meat Marker – ‘Pigs Fly’. Head behind that building, and head right (watch for the enemies).

Behind the building there’s a chain link fence surrounding a square area. In there is a piano with the sheet music on it (yellow orb).

Sheet Music – Losilus Dreaming (2 / 2)

This sheet music can be located in Vyssa Hills, the third area of the game. The sheet music is near the big tree in the centre of the area. Facing the tree (if you were coming from the APC), head to the right up a small hill. The collectible (yellow orb) can be found on a small chest.
