If you were gaming during the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era, there's a very good chance that you'll have dabbled in at least one of the skate. trilogy of games. skate. 1 - 3 all launched within the same generation to critical and commercial success, but to the surprise of all series fans, the franchise has been completely dormant ever since.
The franchise entirely skipped the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 generation, leaving space for Tony Hawks 1 + 2 Remake; and more recently the 3 + 4 remake which we liked here at Gamer Social Club.
After what seems like development hell and plenty of closed playtests - with over 1m players invited to partake, EA have finally confirmed that the reboot of skate. will launch into Early Access on September 16 2025 for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
Early access will be completely free for players for all platforms. There is no pre-launch sign up required.

The Early Access game will take us to the streets of fictional San Vansterdam, an area divided into four distinct skate spaces for players to roam around. Up to 150 skaters can partake in one server at any time so there's likely to be some busy streets.

Which consoles will skate. release on?
The game will be cross-gen as it launches on Xbox One and Series, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 4/5. There is currently no mention of a Switch or Switch 2 version of the game. Cross-play and cross-progression will be available for all platforms.
