God Save Birmingham Pre-Alpha has been announced.
Pre-Alpha Announced: What It Showed Us
A new trailer for the highly anticipated zombie slaying period piece God Save Birmingham was recently released at Gamescom 2025. In this trailer, we get a glance into what looks to be one of the most unique zombie-slaying adventures to date from a basic gameplay perspective. We see the player climbing a building to escape the dead, further reiterating that we aren’t limited to just walking around on the same level that they operate.

We also get a chance to see some of the crafting aspects in the game briefly. These include kindling a fire and setting up a pot to cook. You get to make different types of food by adding various ingredients and spices.
In the rest of the trailer, we get to see how weapons interact with both the world around you, and the undead themselves. One detail that stood out in particular is your weapon getting stuck in the beam while the player is trying to finish off a downed zombie.
The game seems to lean into the brutal details of a medieval world, and I, for one, am excited that we finally got to see something more than the announcement trailer.
