TT Games and Warner Bros. have officially unveiled Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight during Gamescom Opening Night Live, marking the Caped Crusader's return to consoles in his first solo Lego outing in over a decade. Launching in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, the game promises a sprawling, open-world Gotham packed with iconic villains, cinematic callbacks, and a darker tone than previous Lego titles.
The reveal trailer showcased Batman gliding through alleyways, stealthily dismantling thugs, and facing off against familiar foes like Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Bane – voiced by Matt Berry, no less. TT Games is leaning into the Arkham-style combat this time, with combos, counters, and stealth takedowns that feel more fluid and intense than the usual Lego fare.
Legacy of the Dark Knight isn't just a greatest hits reel. It's a full-blown origin-to-legend story, drawing from decades of Batman lore across comics, films, and games. Players will train with the League of Shadows, build a Bat-family, and explore a fully Lego Gotham City at their own pace. For the first time in a Lego game, difficulty options will be available – including a punishing Dark Knight mode for those who want a real challenge.
