Denshattack by Fireshine Games Announced

Today at Opening Night Live, Fireshine showed off their new game DenshAttack. Fireshine Games is the development team behind Core Keeper, Shadows of Doubt, and more.

Fireshine invited us to a hands off preview of the game where we got to hear from the team behind DenshAttack. Lead Producer, Angel Beltran Palau and the Game Director, David Jaumandreau led the presentation. They are an award winning team of 12 people from Barcelona, Spain. Getting to see their next project, Denshattack, was a real treat.

Have you ever played Tony Hawks Pro Skater and thought to yourself, “Man, I wish I was a train instead of Tony Hawk?” Well, I got good news for you. Your wildest dreams are coming true.

The bright and beautiful world of Denshattack.

Lead Producer, Angel Beltran Palau said the game is “Heavily inspired by Tony Hawks Pro Skater as well as Jetset Radio, and Sonic the Hedgehog.” In Denshattack‘s core gameplay is double layered. Get to the end of the station within time limits without derailing. The second layer is about getting to your destination with styles and tricks. Get to the end with the highest score while using the games combo system.

Angel explained that, “Everything in the game was designed around the trick based system.” The game features a lot of big levels (50+ to be exact) full of exploration. Complete challenges like destroying communication towers, paint the city, races, de-rail rivals, and use tricks to unlock secret shortcuts. Creatively reach your destination as you perform skills, and travel via…Ferris wheel?

Denshattack will take you places

You can find your unique combo style by exploring the trick park. Don’t worry, you won’t be performing sick combos without style. There is a wide array of trains that can be unlocked where you also can customize your cosmetics. Each train will come with a different set of abilities so choose what fits your playstyle best.

Time limits, races, and boss fights can feel a little pressuring to get missions done while simultaneously exploring new tricks and rails. So to ease that pressure, there is no penalty for failing or retrying. Players are encouraged to find the different things, rather than it feeling like a chore to want to get all the offerings from a level.

Denshattack’s world is simply wild.

To add to Denshattack’s cool Hi-Fi Rush like art style, the game will also feature an anime style story to go along with your journey. The story takes place in Japan. The developers also said that the entire map was based off of Japan’s Railway system. In the game, Japan’s climate catastrophe has landed the rich in air-purifying domes, as the rest of Japan is left in an undomed wasteland.

The rebellion of the movement Denshattack, has reclaimed the wasteland and rebuilt the broken sections of the railroads tracks. Now underground gangs fight for territories through dualling.

An image of what you can expect from the story.

During the fights for territories, the domed cities keep negligent to the shenanigans of the outside world. Kept at a distance via a hypersonic vacuum-tube transport called the VACTRAIN. The VACTRAIN was created by the megacorporation Miraido, who now controls most of the daily life in the country.

You will need to take on rival gangs for territory in the game, which will lead to some pretty cool looking boss fights.

Game Director, David Jaumandreau said that “Boss fights is about direct challenge and will take your entire focus. They are very climactic.” To explain exactly how climactic, he said, “There will be a mech.” Aside from that, they kept the boss fights close to their chest. They didn’t want to spoil the excitement that awaits us!

Music is a very important part of a game’s DNA. If you have played Tony Hawks Pro Skater, you know exactly how important it is. So in order to give the game the soundtrack it deserves, Tee Lopes is the Lead Composer of Deshattack. Tee Lopes worked on games such as Sonic Mania, Sonic Frontiers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. The game will feature guest composers, but they are yet to be announced.

“Inspired by the art, culture and music of Japan, and, of course, our love of trains and skateboarding, Denshattack! is a project we’ve wanted to make for a long time, and we can’t wait for the world to experience what we’ve been building.” – David Jaumandreau

Denshattack looks like it is going to be an absolutely wild fun ride. Between its style, fun looking trick combos, story, boss fights, and sick beats, I am very excited for this game to come out.

Denshattack is set to release in early 2026. Denshattack will release on Xbox Game Pass Day One and will be available on PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
