Obsidian Entertainment, developers of the ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ inspired survival game series Grounded, announced today that Grounded 2 has already seen over 3 million players visit Brookhollow Park, across PC and Xbox, for an adventure of micro proportions.
During a “Casually Grounded 2” live stream, Executive Producer Marcus Morgan took a break from playing the game to share this news with fans, as well as answer some of the community’s questions.

“Not to belabor it, but we, in less than two weeks, have already crossed 3 million players who joined us at Brookhollow Park,” revealed Morgan. “You trusted us enough to come back for round two, that you shared it with your friends to have them jump in as well. It means the world to all of us at Eidos (Montreal) and Obsidian that we were able to cross such a milestone.”
“Thank you all so much for believing in us.”
Grounded 2, which was released on July 29th into the Xbox Game Preview program, akin to Early Access, has been receiving a lot of praise from new and old fans alike for its overall improvements from the first game. Although the game does not have many reviews, most likely due to journalists adopting a “review-in-progress” approach, it currently holds a rating of Mostly Positive with nearly 10,000 reviews on Steam.

Morgan went on to answer fan questions, skirting around any that might lead to spoilers. However, he did confirm that most bugs featured in the first Grounded would make their way into the sequel, after receiving a little glow-up. He also clarified that the ‘Playgrounds’ mode from the first game, which let players design their very own garden, would be coming to Grounded 2 “much sooner than it came to Grounded 1.”
With a hefty Early Access roadmap for the game already in place and with a strong focus on community feedback, it looks as though the Grounded 2 team at Obsidian has a firm grasp on the reins.
