Nintendo Switch Online members were understandably delighted to learn that their new Switch 2 consoles would bring a back catalogue of GameCube games. The library started with a handful of classics including The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, F-Zero GX and Soulcalibur II, and has already expanded to offer new addition - Super Mario Strikers.
Additionally at the end of July, SNES classic Mario Paint joined the service which offers the ability to paint with the Switch 2 Joy-Con mouse. Although, this title can also be played by Switch 1 owners with a supported USB mouse.
Now we know the newest game coming to the service will be cult-classic Chibi-Robo! which launched late in the GameCube's life cycle in 2006. Chibi-Robo! will join Nintendo Switch Online on August 21 2025.
Often seen as a title that's been lost to time, partially because of how little marketing it received at the time of launch, this will be a very welcome addition for those who no longer own their GameCube copies. eBay listings of the original are listed at £200+ here in the UK. The series has been dormant since 2015's Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash which came to 3DS in 2025.
On Nintendo's website, the future games listed as confirmed to be coming for Switch Online include Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. A Nintendo GameCube controller is available to buy from Nintendo to enjoy these classics as they were originally played.
