It's felt like a genuine eternity, but METAL GEAR DELTA SNAKE EATER finally arrives this month on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. The remake of 2004's METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER is built from the ground up and features new graphics, audio and various extra modes including multiplayer FOX HUNT.
Earlier this summer we got out first look at console exclusive modes. First, Snake Vs Monkey is an Ape Escape mode for the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions of the game where players will "round up all the escaped apes running amok". Whereas Xbox players will take on Bomberman as Snake in what looks like a blast. Pun intended.
We also knew that METAL GEAR DELTA SNAKE EATER would feature a multiplayer mode, FOX HUNT but it wasn't clear when the mode would arrive. Now we have confirmation that it will arrive post-launch during Fall 2025.

FOX HUNT is a hide-and-seek based multiplayer mode that isn't part of the game's story but utilises elements of the singleplayer gameplay including camouflage and survival. Whilst not a sequel to popular METAL GEAR ONLINE games, FOX HUNT utilises ONLINE's rules with gameplay from METAL GEAR.

Given we haven't seen all too much of FOX HUNT it may not be a surprise that it won't launch alongside the main game. Though the clarification from Konami means we know how long there is to wait. The time between initial release and FOX HUNT means we will have even more time to climb the never-ending ladder. If you know, you know.
METAL GEAR DELTA SNAKE EATER launches 28 August 2025 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Stay tuned to Gamer Social Club for more news and our review for one of the year’s biggest remakes.
