It’s now only 2 days until the world gets its hands on Mafia: The Old Country, the prequel to the famed crime series which takes place on Mafia home turf, Sicily.
The prequel which will be a shorter game at roughly 10 hours in length, is a lower priced release at $50 USD, with UK prices around £40. Regardless of the length, based on the 9 minute gameplay trailer there’s a lot to look forward to.

Last week, we brought you the minimum and recommended PC specs, as well as console performance options for the standard PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The game will run at an average of 60fps in Performance Mode on the base consoles.
However, for PlayStation 5 Pro owners there will be extra optimisation for The Old Country with improvements to resolution and frame rates. In a post on X (Twitter), the Mafia official account posted that the PS5 Pro will feature:
- Support for Variable Refresh Rate
- Support for 120Hz displays
- Higher dynamic resolution in both Quality and Performance modes
The additional benefits will ensure smoother shootouts, car chases and more. Whereas the higher dynamic resolution will make Sicily look all that bit more beautiful.
Mafia: The Old Country releases on 8 August 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Global release times have previously been revealed.
