Gamers have been waiting almost 10 years for Lost Soul Aside, and some how, the hype has not quite yet died. Originally due to release in May, Lost Soul Aside was delayed to August. Despite it’s lengthy development, it’s been a game that has people talking and many patiently waiting. Perhaps that is because it is part of Sony’s China Hero Project. This initiative is to support Chinese developers with financial support and mentorship and bring the games such as this to a global audience. The world is waiting for this one.
Now we can say that with this new look at the weapons, it feels worth the wait.
The weapons trailer highlights four weapons that Arena, the protagonist Kaser’s companion, can transform into. The Sword comes with ‘split second strikes’ while the Greatsword boasts strength. Kaser can also choose the Poleblade which will pierce your enemies or the Scythe providing control during your battles.

The trailer also provides insight into how quickly you can swap weapons. No need to go into any other menus to change your attack of choice. It was good to see that even during your combo attacks you can change out your weapon for something better. In the trailer we see an enemy get sent up in the air with the poleblade and brought back down with the scythe. The combat looks extremely smooth in the trailer so we hope it will be just as smooth upon release.
Developed by Ultizero Games and published by Sony, it’s no surprise this will launch as a PS5 Console Exclusive. PC gamers will also be able to purchase Lost Soul Aside when it launches on August 29, 2025. Those who pre-order will also get in-game bonuses, so if you’re ready for this one, now is the time!
