The Dark Hour nears! That’s right, Persona fans – Persona 3 Reload is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd, 2025.
During today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, JP: Atlus provided a launch trailer of Persona 3 Reload to the new platform. Nintendo fans will be able to enter the Dark Hour. A location where the lines between the ordinary and the supernatural are blurred.

Persona 3 Reload was initially launched to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox in February 2024. This remake is a retelling of the 2006 Persona 3, but includes new scenes and character interactions, along with additional voiceover work. During the day, you play as Makoto Yuki, a student at Gekkoukan High School. In your waking hours, you’ll explore Port Island and forge memorable bonds with a cast of other companions who will shape and support your journey. At night, when the Dark Hour strikes, Makoto battles his way through the tower of Tartarus, taking down Shadows along the way.
Persona 3 Background and Reload
The 2006 Persona 3 is held as one of the strongest early entries of the Persona series and met positive reviews during its initial launch. Persona 3 was even noted in IGN’s Top 25 PS2 Games of All Time and noted sales of over 120,000 copies within its first week of launch.
In 2009, Persona 3 Portable was launched to the PlayStation Portable. This enhanced remaster of the 2006 release made its way to US markets in 2010, followed by Europe in 2011. Persona 3 saw several other spin-offs. These included Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight, as well as features in Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.
The online community repeatedly noted their desire for a remake of the classic Persona 3 title. This came much stronger after the global success and popularity of Persona 5. Following this push of the series onto the global stage, Atlus began work on Persona 3 Reload in 2019.
