We know the series. We love the series. The King of All Cosmos is back, baby! Earlier today at Nintendo Direct’s: Partner Showcase, Bandai Namco unveiled their new trailer for Once Upon a Katamari.
That’s right. The King of Cosmos has destroyed the Earth (he truly has a pattern, doesn’t he) and the starry sky. It now befalls to the Prince of All Cosmos to fix everything…by rolling it all up into a ball. But now with a twist – we’ll be jumping across time to fix what has happened!
The Katamari series is a quirky line of games where you roll a ball around the world and pick up, well, everything. The story is silly, the aesthetics are vibrant, and the music is a bop. Seriously, I routinely listen to the soundtrack of Katamari Damacy while working. In this new release in the Katamari series, players will also have a slew of new items available. From Magnets that will pull nearby objects closer, to Rockets that will give the Prince an extra boost, new adventures await! The Prince also has a new slew of cousins to interact with…69 of them to be precise.

Once Upon A Katamari will also feature online co-op play with up to four other players. There will also be extensive amounts of customization that will allow players to truly have their own Prince. The game will also feature a brand new soundtrack of those quirky songs that will get stuck in your brain at 2 AM.
Once Upon A Katamari will be available October 24th, 2025 and will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam. Pre-orders will also include 3 face customization parts for the Prince. There will also be 2 DLC packs available that will include 60 song tracks and 26 costumes from past series.

One last little piece – the Reroll Bonus will have the Young King of All Cosmos available as a Cousin. This bonus, however, will only be available for users who have save data from either Katamari Damacy REROLL or We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie on the same platform.
