It appears Xbox might not be the only platform holder taking a more multi-platform approach. A job posting found by social media creator Hazzador suggest that PlayStation may be bringing more games to Xbox, Nintendo and other platforms.
The posting is for a Senior Director of Multiplatform & Account Management and would be reporting directly to the Vice President, Commercial Management. What makes the job posting so interesting is the fact that it mentions those other platforms. The overview of the job is as follows:
“Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Management as Senior Director of Multiplatform & Account Management, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios software titles across all digital platforms beyond PlayStation hardware, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile. This role is accountable for optimizing title profitability, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and leading a high-performing team focused on multiplatform expansion, mid-range commercial planning, and platform partner management.”

What this all means at this point is purely speculation. Of course next month PlayStation is publishing Helldivers 2 on Xbox and they have already brought games like Lego Horizon to the Nintendo Switch.
Could this simply be them preparing for Xbox’s next-gen hardware that is reportedly going to be more like a PC and run Steam? If Steam is on the next Xbox then PlayStation games will already be on Xbox in a way. With the mention of Nintendo it seems like it’s going to be more than that. Time will tell.
If I had to put my own personal opinion on this, I think PlayStation is realizing there is money to be made elsewhere and there base won’t go anywhere. Playerbases on console aren’t really growing anymore beyond what they already have. Xbox players are staying on Xbox or PC and PlayStation players are staying on PlayStation. I wouldn’t expect to see any games on other platforms on day 1, but perhaps a similar strategy they already employ on PC with games being only on PlayStation for a year or so.
Some have suggested it could just be for their multiplayer games and that is possible, though PlayStation doesn’t typically make many multiplayer games so I’m not entirely sure this job would be needed for one or two multiplayer games.

Xbox has already found quite a bit of success with a similar strategy. Forza Horizon 5 came to PlayStation 5 earlier this year and is reportedly the best selling game on the platform in 2025. Sea Of Thieves is another game Xbox brought over and is doing very well with Gears of War Reloaded coming soon as well.
It remains to be seen just how much damage the approach will do to Xbox’s next generation of hardware, but for right now its hard to deny the success they are having as a publisher.
