After a few teases, Battlefield 6 has officially been unveiled. EA released the first official trailer for their long running shooter franchise showcasing a bit of what we can expect in terms of plot for the campaign while leaving out many important details.
The 2-minute-long trailer features all game engine footage with no gameplay. We learn that a private military company called Pax Armata is attempting to destroy NATO and their allies. The military groups slogan is “Our Protection, Your Peace” and they are hellbent on changing the global power structure.
At one point during the trailer, we see the American President at the podium stating, “For the Pax Armata mercenaries who are watching now, I have a message. It’s over.” We also see an array of battlefields and scenes, from explosions around the Brooklyn bridge in New York to desert and snowy locations. If the trailer was to show us the range of areas we would be going to, mission accomplished.

Unfortunately, that was all we saw with today’s trailer. Without any gameplay it’s tough to see how good the game is looking and what we can expect. To that end EA says there will be a multiplayer trailer dropping next week on July 31st. We should expect to see gameplay then.
Additionally, no release date or pre-order information was given today from EA. While some did see a release date of October 10th on the game’s terms and conditions of the website, it was quickly removed. That will likely be the date for Battlefield 6 and fits into the release window they gave earlier this year.
If it is October 10th, it will set the stage for another major battle. This battle will not be found in one game but instead, the one between yearly juggernaut Call Of Duty and Battlefield 6 as they fight for players and sales. For years the two behemoth franchises went toe to toe. While Battlefield never did come out on top, it was by far the closest to ever do so in the genre.Â
For now we will just have to salivate over the campaign tease we got today.
