Atari 50 Namco Legendary DLC Announced

It might be time to rename the Atari 50 to the Atari 53 or so as the initial game came out back in 2022. However, years after the initial release, we are getting another DLC expansion. Joining the Atari 50 anniversary celebrate is The Namco Legendary Pack DLC.

The Namco DLC will include multiple versions of well known games such as PAC-MAN, Galaga, and Dig Dug to name a few. This DLC doesn’t only come with versions of the game. The Namco Legendary Pack will take you back in time with video interviews, archival documents, and photos. The trailer highlights an interview between Atari’s co-founder Nolan Bushnell and current CEO Wade Rosen. You may even get to see some old commercials from once upon a time. Relive some of those questionable fashion choices or feel nostalgia with the sounds of yesteryear.

For many of these games, it will be the first time they are receiving re-releases:

3 Atari PAC-MAN games: PAC-MAN 2600, 5200, and Atari 8-bit. This marks the first ever re-release of these games for consoles.

The U.S. arcade versions of DIG DUG and XEVIOUS, developed by Namco in Japan and originally released by Atari, re-released in this form for the first time ever.

This release feels timely as PAC-MAN is still inspiring media all these years later. With this DLC you’ll be able to play the Atari versions of PAC-MAN before jumping into the most modern release with the “alternate universe” take in Shadow Labyrinth.

There is no full release date for Atari 50 Namco Legendary DLC as of yet. The trailer indicates “Coming Soon” and the Steam page has 2025 listed so keep an eye out to see all the beginnings of these classics. Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration and it’s DLCs are available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and GOG. For those who want the steel book edition, there are still copies available on the Atari at Urals page.

Will this take you down memory lane or will you be playing these versions for the first time? Let us know in the comments below!
