Cyberpunk Update 2.3 Arrives 17 July

Alongside Final Fantasy XIV, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of modern video games greatest turnaround stories. From a disastrous launch at the end of the Xbox One / PlayStation 4 generation, to one of the most beloved RPGs in a decade, CD Projekt RED's ability to turn this game around could be a documentary.

Known for adding to their games for years after release, CD Prokect RED is bringing the unexpected 2.3 update to Cyberpunk 2077 tomorrow (17 July 2025). The update will launch initially on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, PC and Mac. The Nintendo Switch 2.3 update will follow in due course.

Update 2.3 brings 4 new vehicles and side jobs to unlock them – Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru; Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”; Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa; and the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila.

The game's world will now be easier to get around with the introduction of AutoDrive. AutoDrive is a "cutting-edge, autonomous driving feature will take you to your chosen destination (i.e. job objective or placed pin on the map). If you have no set destination, it will take you on a leisurely ride through the streets of Night City. Simply hop in any of your vehicles, make sure you’re on a road, and hold H (PC) / Left Stick (consoles) to activate. This feature is disabled when you enter combat or when your vehicle is heavily damaged."

Self-driving Delamain cabs also arrive in Update 2.3. Players can hire a ‘Delamain Cab‘ from the menu to call vehicles. The cabs will unlock when players complete the job, "˜Don’t Lose Your Mind' (regardless of outcome) and then receiving a message from Delamain.

Update 2.3's other key feature is improvements to photo mode. 27 new NPCs can be spawned into photo mode such as Rita and the Cassel twins. Players can also select a variety of outfits which can be worn by V and NPCs in photo mode.

A variety of quality-of-life updates and gameplay fixes also come in Update 2.3. The full patch notes can be found on the Cyberpunk website.

Finally, Update 2.3 brings Cyberpunk to a new platform: Mac with Apple silicon. The game can be purchased from the Mac App Store, but players who already own the game via another PC storefront can download it to a compatible Mac device.

If you're yet to play Cyberpunk 2077, the game was recently added to PlayStation Plus giving PlayStation gamers the perfect opportunity to try the game's 2.3 update. Outside of the game, a new season of the successful Netflix anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is in the works.

Are you still playing Cyberpunk 2077 in 2025? Will Update 2.3 be bringing you back to the game?
