[Update] Two pop-up stores have been announced in the build-up to the 25th anniversary of classic JRPG, Final Fantasy IX. However, international fans will have to make a pilgrimage to Japan for the chance to shop at these stores.
The two pop-up events, bringing new merch for the FFIX 25th anniversary, as well as other Square Enix titles like Kingdom Hearts and Nier, are in collaboration with the Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store.

Here are the details of the pop-up shops:
Daimaru Umeda Store
Period: 2025/7/2 (Wed) ~ 7/15 (Tue) Venue: Daimaru Umeda Store 1st Floor Event Space
Daimaru Tokyo Store
Period: 2025/7/23 (Wed) ~ 7/29 (Tue) Venue: Daimaru Tokyo Store 1st Floor Event Space
Along with new merch, which will be exclusive to these pop-up stores and can be seen on the official site, there is a FINAL FANTASY IX 25th ANNIVERSARY × DAIMARU MATSUZAKAYA COLLECTION. It is now less than a month until July 7th, the official date of Final Fantasy IX’s 25th anniversary. Square Enix has been keeping a steady flow of announcements coming since it launched an official website for the game’s milestone, and we got another one today, revealing more FFIX merch.
This time round, we have two new figurines and a selection of t-shirts. If you would like to see the full range of merchandise, visit the official site.
First up, the two figurines, which come with several interchangeable pieces.

We have a very cute and cool figurine of FFIX’s lead protagonist, the effortlessly charming Zidane Tribale.
Included parts: Lower body × 1 / Dagger × 2 / Replacement arm L×1 / Replacement arm R×1
Its measurements are H100mm× W100mm× D80mm (including pedestal), and will be released on November 22nd, 2025. The figurine is available for preorder and is priced at ¥7,480.

The quintessential black mage, Vivi Ornitier, is the second figurine, complete with his staff and iconic hat.
Included parts: Facial expression parts × 1 / Cane × 1 / Replacement arm R×2 / Replacement arm L×2
Its measurements are H95mm× W55mm× D80mm (including pedestal), and will be released on November 22nd, 2025, alongside the Zidane figurine. The figurine is available for preorder and is priced at ¥7,480.
Next up are the shirts, with a choice of four simple designs featuring some of the most recognisable monsters/creatures from Final Fantasy.

The t-shirts will be available in one size it seems, with the measurements: length 73cm/width 55cm/shoulder width 50cm/sleeve length 22cm.
The t-shirts are scheduled to release on September 27th, 2025, and are priced at ¥5,500 each.
If you have been keeping up with us here at the GSC, you know we’ve tried our best to keep up with all of these Final Fantasy IX merchandise announcements, as we get closer to the big day. The Final Fantasy IX 25th anniversary lottery was detailed less than two weeks ago, a month before July 7th.

It is still unclear if this is all building to something, like the heavily rumoured Final Fantasy IX remake. With the announcement of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this month, which was named in the same Nvidia leak as FFIX back in 2021, all of these breadcrumbs feel enough to send fans into a trance!
